Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be referred by a doctor?

If you are covered by Private Healthcare Insurance you need to call your company’s help line to check whether you need a letter from your GP or Consultant.

Can I self refer?

Patients who are paying for their treatment can self refer.

How do I pay?

We accept all major credit and debit cards as well as payment by cheque.

How long is a treatment session?

Your first appointment will take up to a maximum of one hour.  During this session you will undergo a full assessment as well as your first treatment.  Follow up sessions will last up to half an hour.

When are you open?

We are open during the following hours

Monday            8am – 5.00pm

Tuesday           8am – 9.00pm

Wednesday      8am – 8.30pm

Thursday          8am – 8.30pm

Friday              8am – 5.00pm

The latest any new appointments are booked is one hour before we close and follow up appointments half an hour before.  Early morning and evening appointments are very popular so early booking is essential to get your preferred time.

How often do I have to come for treatment?

This will be decided by your therapist and you and will be discussed as part of your treatment plan.  If your problem is very acute then you may need to come more frequently at first.  Once the problem is starting to settle and resolve then you will be able to come less frequently providing you are following your home exercise and advice plan.

Do I have to come on the same day and time every week?

No.  You can flex your appointments to suit your and your physiotherapist’s diary. You can book one at a time or several depending on your preference. Remember the early and late appointments are very popular.

What happens if I don’t attend?

We require 24 hours notice for cancelled appointments otherwise you will be charged the full rate for the missed appointment

What should I wear?

This depends on the area to be treated.  As part of the assessment the physiotherapist will want to examine the area thoroughly. Clothing needs to be easy to remove or loose enough to expose the area.  Sometimes we will want to see the area above and below the problem e.g. if it’s your shoulder we will look at your neck and your elbow.  If you are unsure please ask when you book your appointment.

Can I bring someone with me?

You are more than welcome to bring a chaperone with you.  If you have a preference you can also request either a male or female physiotherapist. All children under the age of thirteen must have a parent or guardian with them.

My physiotherapist has used some specialist tape on my leg.  Can I buy some more from you?

We have an extensive range of tapes, splints and light equipment which is for sale and can be bought on the day.  If you require a specialist item then we can source and order this for you.  This may take up to a week depending on the supplier.
